A couple of months ago, I wanted something to jump start my return to blogging. I came up with the idea to do a swap... I sent off a message to a bunch of my creative friends on Facebook, and the stocking swag swap was born!!! I was worried that no one would respond ... so I was overwhelmed with the response. 19 AMAZING, talented women decided to join in the fun!!!
I ended up with two partners... my first is the lovely Kadee Metzger. I knew that I was going to have to do something I have not done in over 20 years... Something I was dreading with a PASSION...sew from a pattern!!! It turns out that it was not as bad as I remembered from High School home ec. Once I got that dreaded sewing out of the way I was able to do the fun stuff and embellish the stocking with pearl and lace trim, vintage ribbon, pom pom trim, velvet ribbon, a vintage earring, a gorgeous millinery flower, and a mica coated K!!!!
I filled the stocking with a mixture of vintage goodies, and fun stuff, all wrapped with twine and "vintage" red labels!! I soldered an ornament, filled with a mini bottle brush tree, some vintage mercury glass balls, and sheet music. It was such a fun swap!!!! I can't wait to get my packages in the mail!!!!! Tomorrow I'll blog about my second stocking for this swap, so stay tuned!!!!
